NCB Drug Campaign

NCB undertook a campaign for collective commitment to make our youth and society drug-free and to foster a positive environment in our schools. APS Birpur joined the campaign to spread awareness about the menace of substance abuse. APS Birpur promoted the awareness programme “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs.” Most students participated enthusiastically in activities like essay writing, poster making, and e-card making competitions. Additionally, students took the e-pledge against drug abuse initiated by NCB.

9th Junior National Rugby 7s Championship

The 9th Junior National Rugby 7s Championship 2024 for U18 Girls was held at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge, Balewadi, Pune, Maharashtra, on 19 & 20 Jun 2024. In this event, two students from APS Birpur, Yamini and Yogita from cl XI, had the opportunity to participate. Team Uttarakhand got the 12th position.

10th International Yoga Day

On the occasion of 10th International Yoga Day on 21 Jun 2024, APS Birpur celebrated the day with full excitement and enthusiasm. The Principal, students, parents and Admin staff actively participated on this day. Children were made aware about the benefits of Yoga. They started with Surya Namaskar and then followed several Aasanas and Pranayamas

ATC (Advanced Training Camp)

From 24 Jun to 3 Jul 2024, 13 students from APS Birpur participated in the ATC Camp held at SBS Batwala in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The students were engaged in extensive training and activities, gaining valuable experiences and skills. The camp offered a unique opportunity for personal growth and team-building.

The 9th Junior National Rugby 7s Championships 2024 for U18 boys was held at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge, Balewadi, Pune, Maharashtra, on 25 & 26 Jun 2024. In this event, two students from APS Birpur, Ayush Bist of cl XI E and Lalit Mohan of cl XII F had the opportunity to participate. Team Uttarakhand got the 16th position.

Inter-Class Fireless Cooking

An Inter-Class Fireless Cooking competition was conducted on 5 Jul 2024 for cl I – V. Cl I & II did salad decoration, cl III prepared peanut chaat, cl IV prepared corn chaat and the students of cl V prepared sandwiches. Dishes were judged on taste, nutrition and presentation by esteemed judges Ms Sangeeta Limbu, Ms Reeta Chauhan and Ms Parul Rawat. They interacted with the budding chefs to find out the ingredients of the recipes, nutritional value and their presentation style. The event not only provided a platform for the students to foster their creativity and decisionmaking skills but also helped them explore their hidden talents and discover new areas of interest.

Inter-house Senior Basketball Competition

The Sr Boys Inter-House Basketball Competition was held at APS Birpur on 5 & 9 Jul 2024. All house teams played well against each other, with Raina House emerging victorious, Thimayya House securing second place, and Vaidya House taking third place.

Inter-House Chess Competition

An Inter-House Chess Competition was organized for the students of cl IX - XII on 5 & 9 Jul 2024. Each house was represented by one boy and one girl. In the boys' category, Vaidya House emerged victorious, while in the girls' category, Manekshaw House emerged as the winner."

Book Review

APS Birpur organized a Book Review Activity on 9 Jul 2024, aimed at promoting healthy reading habits among students from cl VI - XII. The activity required students to submit a book review of the book they have recently read. A specific format was provided to ensure uniformity and clarity in the reviews.

Felicitation Ceremony

APS Birpur conducted a Felicitation Ceremony for the toppers of Class X and XII of the 2023-24 session on 11 Jul 2024. The ceremony was held at Birpur Auditorium. Pramerica Life Insurance Limited also honoured the meritorious students with scholarships under the Prahri scheme. The scholarships and certificates were presented to the winners by Mrs. Rashmi Singh, Chairperson, FWO Birpur.

SFA U-14, U-16, U-18 Basketball Championship

The SFA U-14, U-16, U-18 Basketball Championship was held from 15 to 19 Oct 2023 where teams from various schools of Dehradun and nearby places of Uttarakhand also participated. Our school team secured 3rd position in U-14 and U-18 Category.

Mobile Application

Abhay Panwar, a cl 8A student of APS, Birpur has recently achieved a significant milestone. He has successfully launched his own mobile application, "Table Generator," which is now available for download on the Google Play Store.

Boxing Championship

On October 26, 2023, APS Birpur emerged as the champions in the CBSE North Zone Boxing Championship, securing the overall trophy.

Swachchata Pakhwada

On 4 August & on 6th Sept Shramdaan activity was organised in APS Birpur. Shramdaan means a voluntary contribution involving physical effort. The main purpose of this activity was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefit.

Boxing Tournament

Aditi Bhatt from Class XII A has achieved an impressive feat by securing the third-place bronze medal in the All India Shaheed Lt. Goutam Boxing Tournament from September 6th to 9th. Congratulations on her outstanding achievement!

Udayman Sports Scholarship 2023-24

Lakshya Chand, a student of Class 12 A at APS Birpur, has been chosen for the Udayman Sports Scholarship 2023-24 in the sport of Basketball.

VISIT TO SHORYA STHAL, CHIDBAGH DEHRADUN

A visit was conducted for all the sections of class IX to enhance the patriotic values among the students and celebrate the values of Social Science Week. The student along with Mrs Bimla Karki (TGT-SS) went the Shorya Sthal Chid Bagh Dehradun. The patriotic ambience of the Shorya Sthal filled with the sense of duty and pride for the three wings of Indian Armed Forces.

Inter-House Extempore Competition.

Inter-House Extempore Competition. An Inter-House Extempore Competition was held on 25 Aug 2023. It was for cl VI - VIII. Participants expressed their opinions on the given topic fearlessly and performed well.

Inter-house Chess Competition

APS Birpur organised an Inter-house Chess Competition for cl VI - XII at the school library. Two students from each house participated in the competition. Such competition provides a platform for the students to improve their logical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.

Youth Parliament

A Youth Parliament was organized as a part of celebration of 76th years of Indian Independence Day on 12th August. The topic of discussion was LEGALIZATION OF SAME SEX MARRIAGE IN INDIA.

Bagless Day

APS Birpur observed ‘Bagless Day’ for classes VI, VII and VIII on 10th Aug (Thu), 11th Aug (Fri) and 12th Aug(Sat) respectively. The BAGLESS day of August was conducted to enable the students to develop the feeling of patriotism and love for their nation.

Team APS Birpur won the cluster round against APS Ranikhet by a score of 102.5 against 93. Chitranshi Raisili of 12 Commerce bagged the best speaker title.

SPIC MACAY was organized on 01 May 2023 at Birpur auditorium Koodiyattam is a classical dance form which is practised in the province of Kerala was performed by Artist Kapila Venu ji She was Accompanied by Padiparambil Rajeev Padinjare Parangodath Unnikrishnan and Alikkal Narayana Guptan Hariharan

Labour Day

Labour Day is set to celebrate the hard work and achievements of the labour group. This is one day that is entirely devoted to the labour class. Today Army Public School Birpur celebrated Labour Day 2023 by valuing the workforce of the school.

The AWWA ETimes Bowl Competition ( Round 2 )

In round 2 of AWWA Ethics Bowl Competition 2023 APS Birpur won by score 100 against APS Allahabad with score 82. Harsh Pratap Singh Chauhan of 12B was judged the best Hindi speaker.

The AWWA ETimes Bowl Competition

The AWWA ETimes Bowl Competition knock out rounds began on 24th April 2023. In cluster 3 Team APS Birpur was put up against Team APS Gorakhpur. Team APS Birpur won the 1st round and has moved to the second round to be held on 28th April 2023.

Asha School Staff Visit

On 10 Feb 2023, Ms Ambika Dhasmana, Principal Asha School along with Ms Anjali Subramanyam, Speech Therapist, Asha School and Ms. Anjali Chaudhary , Speech Therapist ,Blooms Speech and Hearing Centre visited the Pry Wg. The objective of visit was to observe the classrooms and engage in discussions with the class teachers regarding their experiences with Children with Special Needs.

APS Birpur celebrated Basant Panchami on 26 Jan 2023 in the school premises. The Principal and teachers offered floral tributes to Goddess Saraswati and recited the Saraswati mantra for knowledge and prosperity.

Painting Competition

On 23 Jan 2023, APS Birpur participated in a painting competition organized at KV Birpur. Palak of cl IX emerged as the runner-up, securing second place in the event.

G-20 Week

APS Birpur Dehradun celebrated G-20 Week (23 Jan - 25 Jan 2023) with events aimed at educating students about G-20, including a cl IX speech during assembly, quizzes for cl VI - XI, and class quizzes on the topic.

National Taekwondo Championship

The National Taekwondo Championship was held at Thyagraj Stadium at New Delhi from 28 Dec - 30 Dec 2022. Overall 26 states participated in the event.

Bridge Course (Pry)

To address the learning loss caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and support optimal child development, APS Birpur has started a Bridge Course to improve reading, writing, and math skills.
